Limericks

I wrote these limericks on things Utah for some contest the paper was doing, but none won :( Food Storage There once was a city of Salt. It was built on a sizable fault. The earthquake did come, But the folks were not glum; They had two years of food in their vault. Hey Everybody! When the Beatles were singing their songs, They once to Salt Lake came along. Not a soul was in sight. It was on Monday night. So they had to sing elsewhere, to throngs! Fruitella Fanning A woman named Fruitella Fanning Developed a passion for canning. The nuclear blast To her jars soon did pass. Now her fruit for consumption they’re banning! Reality When a sports team moved into our city We built them a field that was pretty. While our schools lacked millions, Our sports team got billions. Fields expand, while young minds grow quite bitty.
